Within the frame of “Road to Education Project”, which is implemented by Tohum Autism Foundation and supported by the Ministry of National Education and TANAP Social and Environmental Investment Programs, workshops were held in Ankara between 21st and 25th of May. By the project, training programs are designed and delivered for mentors and trainers together with families, living in the selected 11 provinces (Ardahan, Kars, Yozgat, Erzincan, Giresun, Ankara, Sivas, Kırıkkale, Kütahya, Balıkesir and Edirne).

Training program aims to increase the vocational capacity of the trainers, which would lead to the access of autistic children to more qualified special training. The program in Ankara included subjects as providing communicational skills for children with autism, helping them with self-care skills, problem behaviors and strategies to cope, positive reinforcement, educational design. On 25th of May, an awareness seminar focused on special education for children with autism and their educational rights was held.
