Environmentalists Reacted to the Privatization of Cleopatra Bay

Environmentalists protested the allocation of Cleopatra Bay, which is within the boundaries of Tekirova District Nature Park of Kemer, to a private company for 29 years.

The group which consisted of political party representatives, representatives of CSOs, tourists groups, local administrations and citizens requested the allocation to be cancelled and for the Bay to re-open to public use.

‘IT’S BEEN BLASTED SINCE 1980’

One of the spokeswomen, Hediye Gündüz noted that the region is a typical Antalya Bay and added: “It’s been destroyed since 1980s. Everything is natural here. People are swimming in these places. The beaches and bays belong to the people. We want this bay to stay with the people of Antalya.
