TÜİK: Unemployment Rate is 10.1 in March

According to the data from Turkish Statistical Institute, the unemployment rate in March 2018 decreased by 1.6 points compared to the same period of the previous year and took place as 10.1 percent.

Participation of Women in Labor Force

Labor force reached the number 31 million 809 thousand people, increasing 518 thousand people in the period of March 2018 compared to previous year. The participation in labor force reached 52.4 percent by increasing 0.2 points.

Employment

Employee numbers reached 28 million 499 thousand people by increasing 1 million 10 thousand people compared to the same period of the previous year, while the employment rate reached 41.1 percent by increasing 1 percentage.

Off the record

In March 2018, the proportion of the workers without any social security institution dropped off to 32.4 percent by decreasing 0.7 points compared to the same period of the previous year.

Seasonally adjusted unemployment rate

Seasonally adjusted unemployment rates were estimated to be 28 million 877 thousand people down by 59 thousand compared to the previous turn over. The employment rate dropped down to 47.8 percent by decreasing 0.1 percent.
