“Coal Upsets” Campaign against Çerkezköy Power Plant

It is planned to build a thermal power plant in Çerkezköy-Tekirdağ, which is largely made up of agricultural lands.

TEMA Foundation has started a campaign called “Coal Upsets” and been holding nationwide events and activities to gather attention to the harm caused by thermal power plants and coal minings.

TEMA Foundation’s General Manager Oben Akyol visited Çerkezköy, Kapaklı districts of Tekirdağ and shared details on coal projects.

Here are some highlights from his explanations:

“Coal power plants and coal mining irreversibly harms ever natural asset, especially soil and water assets. Besides, thermal power plants causes water, air pollution and they threaten farming and public health. We invite everyone to sign the petition on change.org/komuruzer or komuruzer.com and write/post to the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Livestock.”
