People of Hemşin United against the Planned Hydroelectric Power Plant

Upon the State Council’s decision, building a hydroelectric power plant in Hemşin has been made possible.

People of Hemşin have been campaigning for 12 years against the planned power plant in an organic field basin. Recently, they have declared a joint statement with the district presidents of each political party, local administrators of 12 villages and had the support of the mayor and councilors. Determined to protect their valleys, people of Hemşin wanted support for other projects planned to highlight the natural beauties of their town.
