The Chamber of Architects of Turkey has published the continuing struggle against destructions under the name of urban transformationsince 1985 as a book. Documents and records in the book titled “Tarlabaşı: A City Struggle” (Tarlabaşı: Bir Kent Mücadelesi) were displayed in the exhibition held in the headquarters of The Chamber of Architects of Turkey. The book was prepared by Hande Akarca, branch board member, and journalist Rıfat Doğan.

The book includes economic, political and sociological cause and effects of the destruction in Tarlabaşı. Along with Şükrü Aslan’s “Demographical Structure of Tarlabaşı”, Ali Rüzgar’s “Tarlabaşı: A Turning Point in Preservation Culture”, Zeynep Altunbay’s “Findings on Architectural and Urban Texture in Tarlabaşı” articles, there are also interviews with the witnesses of the destruction period.  “The next book will cover Park Otel struggle and all these works will be collected into a documentary”, said Rıfat Doğan, one of the contributors to the book.
