“The Bamboo Tree Is Our Inspiration”

A two-week summer festival organized by Bambu Gönüllü Eğitim Platformu, which provides free online private courses to approximately a thousand students with more than 400 volunteers within 8 months, has started. The founder Akın Günaydın, who said that the difficult growth story of the bamboo tree inspired them, notes that their goal is to address inequalities in the field of Education.
The Bamboo, online volunteer training platform launched as a project by Istanbul University Volunteer Academy students, is organizing a festival with hundreds of workshops between July 1-15.
Akın Günaydın, the founder of Bambu which has become a growing platform to eliminate educational inequality from a school project, and Zeynep Nur Giray, the coordinator of in-house trainings, talked about how they started this journey and the festival they organized to Sivil Sayfalar.
Akin Günay, who stated that the bamboo tree is their source of inspiration, says that they have reached about a thousand students in 8 months, their goal is to reach more students, especially children who experience inequalities in the field of Education. Zeynep Nur Giray, who stated that bamboo is a platform that walks with the motivation of volunteerism, notes that they are open to cooperate with all volunteers and institutions who want to contribute.
Some free workshops in many different areas such as art, mind games, personal development trainings, awareness studies related to volunteering will be held for children aged 4-18 years in online summer festival organized by Bambu Gönüllü Eğitim Platformu between July 1-15.
