Metrobus Stops Will Produce Wind Energy

İETT (Istanbul Electric Tramway and Tunnel Establishments) built a 6kW wind tribune in Beylikdüzü metrobus park and started to provide electricity.
The plant will operate independently from the main electricity. The installed 6kW tribune is expected to produce about 1700 kWh electricity annually. Produced electricity will be transferred to the system after being stored in the cells. Electricity will be used in Beylikdüzü Operation Building. IETT will build wind tribunes in garages and platforms which have good wind quality.
The local system was discovered by a young engineer
Another interesting project related to the production of wind energy in the Metrobus line was developed by a young engineer Kerem Deveci. The project ENLIL, which Deveci discovered while using the metrobus, consists of wind tribune places near Topkapı Station. The tribune turns by capturing the wind that metrobus creates during the transition. Tribunes are placed in the middle of the two-lane road where the wind can be used in both directions. For 1km line, 300 tribunes are planned to be installed and according to the calculations, there’s a potential for only 2000 digit in one metrobus line.
