In the Salda Lake, which is protected as a natural area with its surroundings, a festival was planned to be organized which would last for 3 days with the participation of about 30 thousand people along with its shore. However, the event which was intended to be held between 29 June and 1July 2018 under the name of Salda Youth Festival got public’s attention.
It turned out that the permission from regional commission for protection was not received.
No permission from Burdur Govener
Burdur Governor asked the authorities of Ministry of Environment and Urbanisation, Provincial Directorates of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the 6 Regional Directorates of the Ministry of Forest and Water Affairs (which are responsible for the management and protection of Lake Salda) to examine the possible effects of the festival.
The governor has decided not to allow the festival to the institutions legally responsible for the protection of Lake Salda, which are claimed to have no written application for permission.
The cancellation decision was forwarded to the organization company and the Yeşilova Municipality via the Yeşilova District Governor. Upon the examination on the shore of Lake Salda, it was determined that the area planned for the construction of 10 thousand tents was located in the sensitive area designated to protect the Lake.
