HarassMap’s Turkey Extension “Sen de Anlat” (Share Your Story) is Now Online

“Sen de Anlat”, is an extension of Harassmap which is active in Egypt since2010.

HarassMap’s vision is to build a society that guarantees the safety of all people from sexual and gender based violence.

HarassMap is now online in Turkey thanks to the cooperation of Women’s Studies Association and Istasyon TED University Center for Social Innovation. It is a solidarity platform in which people can share their stories, get psychological and legal help. By using the method of crowdsourcing, the platfom aims to keep track of sexual harassments, make them more visible. By taking a collective stand against sexual harassment, re-establishing social consequences for harassers – and making role models of people who stand up to them – the platform believes that harassers can be deterred from harassing again.

“Sen de Anlat” works to build a future in which neighborhoods, schools, universities, cafes, restaurants, shops, workplaces, and eventually all of Turkey are all safe spaces that never tolerate sexual harassment and always help people when they are harassed.
