Legal Action Has Been Taken for the Dog Murdered by the Police

Last week, the police in İzmir used violence on a dog with baton, pepper gas and killed it with a gun. HAKİM (Animal Rights Monitoring Committee) announced that they took legal action against the perpetrators.

“Paşa” the Dog was a domestic animal according to the animal protection law. After he was unleashed, he wandered around for a while and finally took refuge in a flower shop. The owner of the shop used violence to make him leave the store and in defense, Paşa bit him. The police then interfered and according to witnesses, they beat Paşa with batons, sprayed pepper gas and shot him dead.
HAKİM (Animal Rights Monitoring Committee) announced that they took legal action against the police officer.
