Ahtapot Volunteers Opened Material Recycling Center!

How could unused materials be transferred to people in need at the right time? Association of Ahtapot Volunteers has opened Material Recycling Center to answer that need. Unused clothes, idle books and toys will be collected, processed and transferred to the people that need them.

Millions of materials go to waste every day. Association of Ahtapot Volunteers has opened Materials Recycling Center (MRC) in İstanbul, Kadıköy to help decrease the waste.
Materials are processed and packed up in the MRC
Collected materials are carefully sorted, cleaned, dried, ironed, classified and saved to the inventory in the MRC. The inventory’s software, developed by Ahtapot Volunteers, allows the materials to be followed, too. The most important thing here is to keep materials sufficient to fulfill the need. MRC’s slogan is: “Don’t hoard, share!” Operations like cleaning, packaging and etc. are done by volunteers.
“Don’t complain, take action!”
Vedat Kürşün, founder and the president of the Association, says that MRC’s doors are open to everyone and continues: “Materials that you don’t use anymore can be somebody’s need. Unused materials can change people’s lives. That’s why, we said ‘don’t complain, take action!’ and opened Material Recycling Center for a more livable and happier world. As Ahtapot Volunteers, we expect everyone to hand their unused materials such as clothing, shoes, books or toys in our center in Kadıköy. We also wait for new volunteers to join us.”
