<p>Work Life Commission of HRA Istanbul Branch released a press statement on violation of rights of workers.</p>
<p>Hüseyin Aygün, on behalf of the Commission, pointed out the violation of rights after the state of emergency was declared. “Many employees have been discharged in 94 municipalities, which have a government-appointed administrator in charge,” said Hüseyin Aygün in his speech.</p>
<p>“Based on ILO reports, in 2017 12 thousand people were dead because of occupational illnesses in Turkey,” said Aygün and continued: “According to the statistics reported by Workers’ Health and Work Safety Assembly, at least 20 thousand 500 workers were dead since 2002. In 2017, 116 women, 1890 men, 60 children (18 of them are below 15), 88 immigrants (mostly Syrian refugees) were dead.”</p>
<p>“We call the National Assembly of Turkey, the government, Ministry of Labour for action against the violation of rights in the work place, demand the state of emergency to be repealed,” indicated Hüseyin Aygün lastly.</p>
